Stephen was elected Chair of NGA in December 201, prior to that he was vice chair (2006-8, 2009-11), and chair of Policy Committee 2008–11.  He is currently chair of governors of a primary school in Norwich, and chair of the Norfolk Governors’ Network. Previous governor offices include being chair of a rural primary school and of a large urban secondary school.
 
Before starting his own publishing company in the mid-1990s Stephen held senior management posts in various mainstream publishing companies. He has written frequently on governance both in book form and for specialist periodicals.

Judith Bennett, Vice Chair

Judith Bennett, Vice Chair

Judith Bennett is chair of a primary school in Oxfordshire.

After 24 years as a secondary teacher, in 1993 Judith left a senior post to work in publishing. At this time she also became a primary school governor and since 1998 she has given increasing time to this at both the local and national level.

Judith Bennett served as NGA Chair between April 2006 and December 2008. She was elected as vice chair on 10th December 2011.

Siddique is the West Midlands Regional Director, and was elected as vice chair on 10th December 2011.
 
Duncan Haworth, NGA Treasurer

Duncan Haworth, NGA Treasurer

A governor for more than 10 years, currently a parent governor at a 1600 pupil secondary school and also vice chair and community governor at a 2 form entry primary school, having previously been chair for 4 years. Since its formation in 2001 Duncan has been the secretary of the Cheshire Association of Governing Bodies and is involved in Cheshire’s Schools Forum and various committees within the Local Authority.

He is a self-employed consultant in the human resources field, having previously been a senior operations manager in industry.

Fred was elected as the Honorary Secretary on 10th December 2011.

Clare Collins

Clare Collins

Clare has been a school governor since 1991. She is currently chair at a primary school in Crawley. Clare has served as a community, a local authority, and an additional governor.  Clare was a founder member of the West Sussex Governors' Association, where she continues as a committee member, and is a governor member of West Sussex Schools Forum and West Sussex Admissions Forum. She also regularly sits on and chairs school admission appeal panels.

Clare was elected to the NGC board in 2002, and became a vice chair in 2003. She was elected as NGA Chair in December 2008, and stepped down in 2011.

More
