Corporate LA membership is intended for local authorities, education charities and voluntary organisations. It costs £280 per annum.
Corporate LA delivers the following membership benefits:
- The only way to subscribe to the NGA magazine Governing Matters, written for governors. You can have up to 3, 5 or 10 copies. It is produced six times a year
- Discounts off all NGA publications, such as Welcome to Governance, which has been extensively updated with details from the Academies Act 2010 and the Education Act 2011. The new layout and design make it clear what is applicable to your type of school, be it LA maintained or an academy
- Two free places at NGA member conferences and regional meetings
- Access to the members’ area of the NGA website for up to 10 of your staff. The members' area holds a wealth of guidance, information, useful resources and newsletters, as well as dates of regional meetings you can attend
Recent NGA conferences have been addressed by:
- Lord Hill, Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Schools
- Professor Chris James (University of Bath) a leading researcher into school governance
- The March 2011 conference was addressed by Dr Elizabeth Sidwell the new Schools Commissioner
