NGA's handbook for new school governors 'Welcome to Governance' aims to give new governors an overview of the roles and responsibilities of governing bodies.  It covers issues including:

• How governing body meetings are conducted
• The governing body's responsibility for finance
• Governors' role in Ofsted inspections

The NGA/EduCare - First Certificate in Governance

This programme has been developed by EduCare in partnershp with the NGA.  It is aimed at new governors.  The programme consists of four short learning modules and corresponding questionnaires to test understanding.  More information and details of how to order the package can be found via the link below.
