We've received several endorsements for our Guides, including:

“Welcome to Clerking is an excellent publication which provides plenty of sensible advice without indicating how the role ‘must be done’. I particularly liked the phrase that ‘clerks find a way that is comfortable’ – very true in my experience. The publication was recommended to me and is a great way of keeping up with ever-changing legislation.”

“For the past 5 years we have used 'Welcome to Governance - A Guide for New School Governors' as a key part of our new governor induction materials. Well designed and laid out and regularly updated, it is a good first read, providing an overview of the role of governance and encouraging governors to ask questions, make monitoring visits and get actively involved.”

Linda Lissimore - Head of School Governance, Kent County Council

Each Guide offers detailed information on the business of governance. The 'Welcome to Governance' Guide also acts as a distance learning module, with section summary questions and a final questionnaire assessment, which allows readers to test their understanding. This distance learning element enables governors and governing bodies to evidence their training.

Gold NGA membership includes a free pack of NGA Guides and free distance learning for all new governors. More information here
