The National Governors' Association represents school governors in England; there are over 300,000 governors, the largest volunteer group in the UK.

The NGA has different categories of membership:
- Governing Body - which costs just £60 a year more
- Gold Governing Body Membership - which costs £250 a year more
- Individual- which costs just £27 a year more
- Local Associations of Governing Bodies - where the cost depends on the size of the association, please enquire at NGA headquarters (see below)
- Corporate 200- for local authorities, and education organisations more
- Corporate- for commercial companies more
