Join the NGA

The NGA is the national membership organisation for school governors. We are an independent charity with a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from governors across England. 

The NGA aims to support and promote good governance in our schools.  We do this through lobbying, via a range of contacts with ministers, policy makers and education organisations.

We run national conferences, along with a number of regional events.   We also produce a number of publications providing information and advice to governors.  Members receive copies of our magazine ‘Matters Arising’ and are entitled to discounts on the NGA Papers.

The NGA has different categories of membership:

• Governing Body - which costs just £55 a year more
• Gold Governing Body Membership - which costs £250 a year more
• Individual - which costs just £25 a year more
• Local Associations of Governing Bodies - where the cost depends on the size of the association, please enquire at NGA headquarters (see below)
• Corporate 200- for local authorities, and education organisations more
• Corporate 5K - for commercial companies more
