Microsites
Local associations and NGA regions can have a microsite within the main
NGA website.
Follow these links to go to the microsites pages:
Why have a microsite?
Many governors' associations rely on their local authority for web space. This can be unsatisfactory for several reasons:
- The pages are sometimes buried deep in a very large website
- There can be a delay of several days whilst content is loaded
- The local authority may object to content that they see as controversial
Other local associations have developed their own sites, but they
may have to pay hosting fees and the software tools available can limit
the site design.
Whilst retaining the overall layout of the main NGA site the microsites have their own a 'masthead' with the region or association name and logo and their own 'navigation', with additional pages available as required.
The content management system for this microsites is very simple - anyone
familiar with word processing could master the basics within minutes.
The microsite is free to local associations, who would nominate a
microsite controller who would be given administrator access to allow
content to be uploaded to the site.
Or - if an association wished their microsite to be a simple
noticeboard - content could be e-mailed to NGA HQ and we would load it
onto the site.
If your region or association would like to have a microsite please
contact NGA HQ to discuss the details - preferably by
e-mail in the first instance.
