Samuel Tranter is a senior advice officer at the NGA. He provides advice to Gold members via email and telephone, alongside writing for the website, magazine and weekly newsletter. His specialist policy areas include admissions, behaviour, complaints, data protection, and governor effectiveness.
Prior to joining the NGA, Sam received his PhD from the University of St Andrews, where he was tutor in Modern History. He was also employed as historical researcher by the National Theatre of Scotland. He was previously educated at Aberystwyth University and King’s College London.
