NGA Clerks Conference

NGA is pleased to announce its second conference for clerks.

THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED!

The conference will be held on Monday 19 February 2018 in Birmingham and will be open to clerks who are individual members of the NGA or whose governing boards are members of NGA.

Places are limited, so please book now to guarantee a place. 

The day will include an update on the NGA Clerking Matters campaign and workshops on effective clerking.
Registration will open from 10.00 for a 10:30 start and finish at 15:30.

Delegates will need to CHOOSE TWO workshops at the point of registration, please pick ONE morning workshop and ONE different afternoon workshop. 

A. Clerking a governing board - the basics: A workshop on the role of the clerk before, during and after a meeting. The workshop will identify best practice on the administrative duties of a clerk including devising an agenda, taking minutes during the meeting and actions that need to be completed after a meeting.

B. People and relationships: Tips and advice on how to manage relationships within a governing board. The workshop will focus on how clerks can build effective relationships with the chair, governors and the headteacher.

C. Clerking in a MAT: The workshop will be focussing on the role of a clerk within a multi academy trust covering both the role of clerk to the trust board and to an academy committee.
