Following last year's hugely successful inaugural Oxfordshire Academies Business Managers Conference, we will be holding a second conference. This year we are delighted that Whitley Stimpson is our headline sponsor.

We had an excellent response from delegates with an overwhelming number saying it was excellent value for money, that they would recommend the conference to colleagues and that there was a good mix of academies, MATs and maintained schools. In addition the price level meant that more than one person from their school could benefit from attending.

For this reason, we have kept the price of a ticket to £65 for non members and £50 for members, which, again, represents excellent value for money and underlines the fact that this is a not for profit event. In addition, we want to make sure that delegates have the opportunity to meet with, and learn from, experts and peers; and have the opportunity for input into discussions. The ticket includes lunch, refreshments and an evening reception.

This year, again we have some first class speakers covering a wide range of topics including Governance, the changing role of the SBM, Procurement, Estate Management and MAT development. Our aim is to appeal to a broad range of disciplines across a variety of job roles.

Keynote speakers:

  • Felicity Aston, British polar explorer Felicity Aston MBE is an author, speaker, expedition leader and former Antarctic scientist. In 2012 she became the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica.
  • Martin Post, Regional Schools Commissioner, North-West London and South Central England. As Regional Schools Commissioner for NWLSC, Martin is responsible for making decisions about the academies and free schools in 27 local authorities. Before his appointment, Martin was Headmaster of Watford Grammar School for Boys for 14 years.

Breakout sessions will be led by:

  • Katie Paxton-Doggett, Vice Chair of the National Governance Association
  • Lorraine Ashover, Minerva Procurement Consultancy Services
  • Rachael Warwick, Executive Head Teacher of Ridgeway Education Trust and President of ASCL
  • Matthew Clements-Wheeler - Deputy Head and SBM, Bordesley Green Girls School and Sixth Form

  • Neil Limbrick - Director, Lighthouse Education Consultancy
  • Julia Harden - ASCL Funding Specialist
