Contact Telephone: 01225 446760
Details: Clerk to three Local Governing Bodies in Bath - 300 hours in total annually - £4203pa
Bathwick St Mary, St Andrew’s, Julian Road and St Stephen’s, Richmond Place, are three church schools who along with eight others have become academies this year and constitute the Bath Hub of the Bath and Wells Multi-Academy Trust.
The Clerk to the Governors is responsible for providing advice to the governing body on constitution, governance and procedural matters; providing effective administrative support to the governing body and its committees; ensuring that the governing body is properly constituted; and that information is managed effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
There are no prescribed hours for this role, but the Chairs of Governors work closely with the Clerk to agree priorities and objectives and how they can be best achieved. Evening work is required in attending Board and Committee meetings. It is an interesting role sitting at the heart of each governing body, and can really add value to the smooth running and effectiveness of them.
If you …
- are able to work collaboratively and supportively as part of a team and build relevant external networks with the school, diocese, Bath and Wells MAT, etc
- have good listening, oral, literacy and IT skills
- are self-motivated, able to use your own initiative, organise time effectively and meet deadlines
- have good administrative and organisational skills in minute taking, record keeping, information management and keeping various partners and governors up to date
- are able to develop your own knowledge of relevant educational and statutory information
- can operate with integrity, confidentiality and impartiality
- are open to change and learning, including your own personal professional development
…we would love you to apply.
In return, we will offer you a happy and motivating work environment; supportive and inspiring colleagues and a commitment to making your experience successful and rewarding.
If you wish to apply for this role, please would you contact Kate Seeley, Chair of Governors at St Stephen’s Church School, for an application form.
The Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS and all relevant pre-employment checks.
Closing date: 15 August 2018.
Interview date: to be arranged.
This post will commence in early-mid September.
