The prospect of an Ofsted inspection is daunting for everyone, not least for the governing board or academy committee who will meet with inspectors and be expected to answer questions about how they are carrying out their core functions and are ensuring that statutory requirements are being met.

NGA’S consultancy and training service offers a 2 hour interactive training session to governing boards and senior leaders to help them prepare for a future Ofsted inspection. Participants will learn:

· what Ofsted expect from the governing board;

· what ‘knowing your school’ means in practice;

· the criteria against which governance is judged, and

· how to be ready for an Ofsted visit.

At the end of the training session the governing board should be clear about what needs to be done to ensure that they are ready for an inspection.

The training session is suitable individual governing boards and can be also be adapted for a number of schools to share. Schools in multi academy trusts are strongly advised to book a bespoke session as it can then be aligned to their trust’s scheme of delegation

All NGA training is delivered by carefully recruited and quality assured consultants. To book a training session for your board and confirm costs please contact training@nga.org.uk or phone 0121 237 3788
