Welcome to the dedicated MATs section of NGA's website.
We have developed a robust, experienced and varied evidence base, taking account of MAT governance in trusts of all shapes and sizes. As well as the learning we glean from our members through the NGA GOLDline and discussions at regional meetings and conferences, the key learning points coming through the NGA consultancy programme, and extensive engagement with expert organisations and policy makers, NGA continues to build a body of research to shine a spotlight on MAT structures and governance.
In this section of the NGA Knowledge centre, you can access this collective learning, including our pioneering model schemes of delegation, a series of real, honest and transparent MAT case studies providing a rich insight into the governance experiences and lessons learnt, and many essential MAT governance documents including our role descriptions for trustees, guidance on members and considerations for setting executive pay.
In addition to our ongoing research projects, NGA continues to run its MAT network; an active forum for MAT trustees to share governance challenges, successes, ideas and best practice, and a space for NGA to test out new ideas and approaches to effective MAT governance. You can find all about the key learning points from this network right here.
