SEND Advisory Group

Tuesday 09 March 2021

16:30 - 18:30

The SEND Advisory Group is one of our most important networks and we value the insight the group is able to provide about the realities of governing in COVID times, the positives, the challenges and potential legacy for the SEND system.

We look forward to continuing the conversations about strengthening the governance of SEND and how we influence a system that supports schools, councils, healthcare providers and social services to work together in the best interests of the child.

Whilst it is a virtual meeting it will continue to be an interactive forum that both informs NGA policy work and promotes the effective governance of SEND.

The meeting will include an update on the SEND review from André Imich, SEN and Disability Professional Adviser, SEND Division, DfE.
There will also be a group discussion on the ‘governance of SEND’ with attendees being asked to share what has worked well in their settings.

NGA is also in the process of updating their guidance on SEND and the governing board and would welcome attendees’ thoughts on the types of questions those governing should be asking their senior leaders.
