On Tuesday 21 May, the National Governance Association (NGA) will celebrate the best of school governance practice at the Outstanding Governance Awards, held at the House of Commons. These biennial awards recognise the substantial and valuable contribution of governors, trustees and clerks to the education of children and young people.

Here are the finalists:

Outstanding clerk to a governing board

  • Eltham Church of England Primary School, Royal Borough of Greenwich
  • Hoe Valley School, Surrey
  • James Brindley Academy, Birmingham
  • Rhodes Avenue Primary School, Haringey

Outstanding governance in a multi academy trust

  • Co-op Academies Trust, North of England
  • The Evolve Trust, Mansfield

Outstanding vision and strategy

  • Eastrop Infants and Southfield Junior partnership, Swindon
  • Federation of Cherry Oak School and Victoria School with Victoria College, Birmingham
  • Glebe Academy, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Little Gaddesden Church of England Primary School, Hertfordshire
  • Richardson Dees Primary School, North Tyneside
