Strong governance for good schools: Heads and chairs working together

National College and NGA are working together on nine regional workshops for chairs and heads/principals. Register now to attend one of the National College’s “strong governance for good schools” workshops, which will examine how headteachers and chairs of governors can work most effectively together to improve governance and school performance.

The workshop will provide you with opportunities to:

  • Watch and discuss an exclusive video message from Sir Michael Wilshaw, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, on the importance of the relationship between the head and the chair and how this can contribute towards school improvement.

  • Hear Emma Knights, the NGA’s chief executive, talk about ‘The 8 elements of effective governance’.

  • Undertake action planning activities in your chair/head pairing,

  • Be part of an action research project
     

Workshops are taking place in all 9 government office regions and are scheduled from 3pm to 8pm.
