The next Academies Show takes place on Wednesday 27 November at the NEC in Birmingham. For maintained schools and established academies, the Show gives a chance to explore the role of academies in the education landscape. It is free to attend, and aims to provide visitors with a clear understanding of the process of converting to an academy from those who have actually done it, learn about managing a successful academy from those at the cutting edge, and be informed about the future of education policy from those who decide it.
NGA is pleased to once again be a lead supporter and contributor to the Show. Emma Knights, Chief Executive, will take part in a panel discussion on ‘The Governor’s Role in Improving Academy Achievement’ in the main conference.Gillian Allcroft, Policy Manager and Philip Wood, Parliamentary and Advice Officer, will be leading a seminar discussing Governance in Groups of Schools, including: why you should consider governing in a group; things to think about if you are looking at governing in a group; the implications in relation to sponsored academies; and possible structures that you might want to think about.
