Ofqual briefing on GCSE results

As you know, GCSE and A level students will be receiving their results shortly. There have been a number of changes this year that mean overall results could look different to results in previous years. Some of the changes include:

  • increased early entry (students from year 10 or earlier)

  • increased entries for IGCSEs

  • increased numbers of students entered for more than one GCSE in the same subject

  • New GCSE science subjects to increase challenge

Ofqual have produced a briefing which has been published today on their website. Their helpdesk is available to answer any questions you might have, whether about exam results or qualifications reform. You can call them on 0300 303 3346 or email info@ofqual.gov.uk. There is also more information about this summer’s exams on the Ofqual website.
