All Programmes

Are the programmes available throughout England?

Yes. The NGA runs programmes in every region of England. You can view our past locals on the interactive map, however all elements of the programme are now being run remotely.

Development for Clerks

Is the programme only suitable for those who are currently in a clerking role?

Yes. To begin the programme, you will need to be a clerk with at least 3 months experience and be associated with a school, as there is a school based project included in the programme.

Development for Chairs

What do I do if I do not have a Governor ID?

To apply for a place on the Development for Chairs programme, you need to be registered on the Get Information About Schools website and have a Governor ID number.

Check whether your school has registered you on the Get Information About Schools (GIAS) website by searching for your name.

If your name and school appear in the results, click on the ‘download these search results’ option at the top right of the screen and follow the instructions. Once you have downloaded the results, you will be able to see your Governor ID number against your name and school in column C of the spreadsheet generated.

If you do not appear in this search, you have not been registered on the website by your school. You will need to contact your school administrator and ask them to register you – they will then be able to provide you with your Governor ID number. The DfE have provided a User Guide that should aid them in doing this.
