This module is designed to help you:

  • understand why schools are inspected and what imspectors look at
  • have greater awareness of the evidence on which inspectors base their judgements
  • be aware of the implications for schools and governing boards
  • have a better understanding of the criteria by which the effectiveness of the governing board will be judged
  • be better enabled to ask appropriate questions of the headteacher and senior
