Introduction to Clerking
The new Introduction to Clerking series is the first in our suite of e-learning created by NGA to support governance professionals in their career development.
It is aimed at those new to clerking or who are considering taking up their first clerking position in any school setting, be it maintained, independent, trust board or at local governance level
Each module explores different aspects of the role to provide a comprehensive induction that enables the learner to confidently take the first steps in their career as a governance professional.
It is recommended that you undertake this series before or during your first six months in role.

It is recommended that new clerks study the modules in the order they are listed.
The whole programme of study will take approximately four hours to complete.
