Governing boards need to ensure that pupils can make the most of their time at school by optimising resources to deliver strong outcomes through a suitable curriculum. Done well this can support the achievement of an ambitious vision and better life chances for all pupils. Done poorly it can result in unrealistic expectations, a failed vision and insolvency. A key optimisation tool is integrated curriculum and financial planning (ICFP) and there is increased emphasis on its use by DfE.
This bitesize module is intended to demystify ICFP by providing an introductory exploration of:
- What ICFP is
- How to get your school or trust to use ICFP
- How ICFP can help those governing to fulfil their financial oversight role
- How it can be used by those governing and leading schools and trusts to feel confident in knowing that they are making the most of what they’ve got for their pupils
