With over 20 years’ experience of school governance, Alison became a governor at the primary school she attended herself and has developed considerable insight in how to lead and develop governance through challenging times.

Alison has extensive experience working across primary and secondary school phases within maintained, voluntary aided, as well as multi academy trusts (MATs). She has provided advice, guidance, and training to boards.

In addition, at the request of Directors of Education and trust boards she has sat on and chaired several Interim Executive Boards to support governance where schools are facing significant challenges. More recently, Alison has recently become a director of a large Catholic academy.

Alison holds an LLB (Hons) in law and has worked as a local government officer delivering, commissioning, and managing social welfare law services. This professional experience means she has excellent strategic and change management skills that transfer well into school governance. She has also worked as a trustee in the charity sector further broadens and deepens her relevant expertise for school governance.
