As an experienced business leader, working in several countries with over 500 organisations, Andrew specialises in strategy, improvement, change and transformation. This work has been done at board level involving leaders, management and shareholders.
Andrew has been a governor, trustee and member of five governing boards; maintained, special schools and trusts, including two Interim Executive Boards. He has chaired three governing boards and is currently chair in a single academy trust in Gloucester and of an academy local governing board, part of a multi academy trust in inner city Birmingham.
He has over seven years’ combined experience as a chair and has completed the Chairs’ Development Programme. He was chair of a maintained boys school and has significant experience with Ofsted. He is highly adept at developing governing boards and improving diversity, at one point chairing one of the youngest governing boards in the West Midlands. He has held link governor roles for safeguarding, SEND and pupil premium and worked closely with school and governor support services.
Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management. He is a Justice of the Peace, sitting in the Adult and Family courts in Birmingham. He has graduated from the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme.
