Session impact
Whilst an Ofsted inspection can be daunting, it’s important to remember that both Ofsted and governors have the same core goal – ‘achieving excellence in education’.
If you understand exactly what Ofsted are looking for and identify any issues before hand, then you’ll be prepared for anything.
We have designed this session to support you through this and ensure you know exactly what to expect.
The purpose of the session
The prospect of an Ofsted inspection is daunting for everyone, not least for the governing board or academy committee who will meet with inspectors and be expected to answer questions about the effectiveness of their organisation. At the end of this session, participants should be confident about what Ofsted expects, what they as a governors, trustees or academy committee members need to know, and how the inspection process works.

- Learning what Ofsted expect from the governing board
- Exploring what ‘knowing your school’ means
- Understanding the inspection process

- Identifying any issues that need to be addressed prior to the inspection
Who should attend?
Governors of maintained schools, trustees of single academy trusts, trustees and academy committee members of multi academy trusts

The senior leadership team
