Claire has been a governor and trustee for over 20 years, serving in maintained schools and trusts as a member appointee, a co-opted governor and a parent governor.
She has experience as a chair of committees and of a trust. She has also been a member of an interim executive board, supporting a school in moving out of special measures and embedding secure and robust governance structures.
Claire has significant experience as a headteacher and executive trust leader in mainstream and special schools. She has served as an inspector for Ofsted.
As an NGA consultant, Claire delivers governance reviews, provides training and support for boards and governing bodies, and supports executive and headteacher appraisal and performance reviews.
She believes that effective governance is a collaborative endeavour. Executed well, it provides clarity and supports good decision making in the interests of children and the community.
