Peter Sharp

Peter works with schools and trusts, carrying out external reviews of governance, delivering training and undertaking investigations. He works with trust boards, governing bodies and governance professionals across primary and secondary phases in MATs and the maintained sector.
He has been involved in school governance as a school leader, chair of governors of a maintained school and now vice chair of trustees of a MAT. His consultancy work includes raising standards and developing a positive and effective governance culture. Previous work includes MAT reviews, health and safety training and inspection preparation for a special school.
He has been involved in education since 2005, working as a school leader and then as an independent consultant. He also leads school inspections, including of specialist provision.
He believes that strong governance is built on strong relationships between trustees, governors and leaders, which enable a culture of positive challenge to promote better outcomes.
