  • Understand statutory duties and compliance requirements relating to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Clarify the strategic role of governance in shaping inclusive school cultures
  • Identify what “pupil equity” and “belonging” look like in practice across a trust or school
  • Ask the right questions and use data effectively to hold leaders to account on EDI
  • Recognise common gaps, risks and misconceptions and the risk of unconscious bias in current governance practice
  • Explore practical strategies to embed EDI into policies, decision-making and oversight
  • Develop confidence to challenge, support and lead on EDI priorities at board level
