David Werry

Over the last 15 years, David has held many governance posts, covering nursery, primary, secondary, sixth form, mainstream and special schools. These have included eight years as a trustee in two different MATs. He has experience chairing a trust board, local boards and both trust finance and audit and risk committees. He is currently a MAT member. In the maintained sector he has served as a governor in two schools, chairing an outstanding primary school for six years.
David has been an education consultant for more than ten years, working with NGA since 2015 and as one of the redesignated National Leaders of Governance. This work includes carrying out external reviews of governance, delivering training on a range of topics and supporting CEO and headteacher performance management as an external adviser.
Before finding his vocation in primary education, David worked for six years as an accountant in business and industry. His professional qualifications include ACA and NPQH.
