David Werry
NGA Consultant
David has been an NGA consultant since 2015 and is one of the redesignated National Leaders of Governance. He undertakes external reviews of governance, delivers training across a wide range of topics, and acts as an external adviser on CEO and headteacher performance management.
With over 15 years’ governance experience, David has served across nursery, primary, secondary, sixth form, mainstream, and special schools. He has been a trustee for two multi academy trusts, including as chair of the trust board, local boards, and both finance and audit and risk committees, and is currently a MAT member. In the maintained sector he has been a governor in two schools, chairing an Outstanding primary for six years.
David’s professional background includes headship training (NPQH), six years as a chartered accountant (ACA), and more than ten years working as an education consultant supporting schools and trusts.
