Rosemary Lovatt

Rosemary leads NGA’s consultancy team, drawing on her experience as a National Leader of Governance and NLG Advocate. She has chaired governing boards across maintained and academy sectors, including MATs and faith schools, and is currently a MAT trustee and academy chair.
She has worked with schools and trusts in a variety of settings, supporting governing boards and governance professionals with training, performance management, strategic development, and governance reviews. Recent work includes trust growth strategy, SEND and special school governance, and organisational culture, always tailored to the needs of each organisation. Her work is delivered through NGA’s quality-assured services to ensure consistently high standards.
Rosemary previously led the DfE’s Governance Leadership programme and spent over 20 years as a senior global corporate leader. She believes that culture and strategy are at the heart of strong governance.
