Tony Breslin

Tony works with trust boards, local governing bodies, and governance professionals to support improvement and evaluate governance practice. His recent consultancy work includes external reviews, development planning, and tailored support focused on exclusions, complaints, and organisational culture.
He draws on his experience as a former headteacher, senior local authority officer, and NGA board member. Tony has chaired governing boards in both primary and secondary phases, across maintained and academy settings.
He also brings insight from advisory and scrutiny roles, including Diocesan Boards, Interim Executive Boards, and Education Scrutiny Committees. His LA background covered school intervention, academy conversion, and complaints handling. Tony believes strong governance enables constructive challenge, clarity of purpose, and thoughtful accountability.
