During the summer term the chair of the board should ensure that the board works with the executive leader to plan strategically for the coming academic year. Notably this should include:
Strategy day/meeting
An annual strategy day attended by leaders and the board to agree the organisations priorities for the coming year.
Executive performance targets
Setting the executive targets and performance management objectives for the coming year aligned to the organisations priorities
Budget setting
Finalising the budget and ensuring it supports the strategic objectives, reflects risks and provides sustainability.
