Governance Leadership Forum: Making Financial Efficiencies in Schools and Trusts
Join us for an interactive leadership forum exploring how schools and trusts can deliver financial efficiencies while protecting educational quality and impact.
Designed for governors, trustees, executive leaders and governance professionals, this session will bring together national policy insight and real-world practice to support smarter, more sustainable decision-making.
The forum will open with a welcome from Emma Balchin, followed by an update from the Department for Education, offering valuable context on the current financial landscape facing schools and trusts.
The main feature of the session will be a panel discussion, chaired by Rob Peters, bringing together senior operational and finance leaders working at the sharp end of school and trust management. Panellists will share their experiences of responding to financial pressures, improving efficiency, and strengthening operational practice, with time for both structured questions and audience-led Q&A.
Panel members include:
- Kat Miller, Director of Operations, Acland Burghley School and La Sainte Union Catholic School
- Jatin Shamji, Federation School Business Leader, The Blossom Federation
- Charlotte Allsopp, Executive Director of Finance and Business, Marches Academy Trust
The session will conclude with key reflections and next steps.
Whether you are supporting a single school or overseeing a multi-academy trust, this forum will provide practical insights, informed perspectives, and the opportunity to engage directly with sector leaders on the challenges and opportunities around financial efficiency.
