Membership terms and conditions

These terms and conditions override any contrary terms or conditions published by us in relation to any membership subscription between you and us.

The term governing board refers to trust boards, governing boards and academy committees.

Membership benefits

Membership packages vary according to the grade of membership held.

We reserve the right to change the benefits that apply to NGA membership at any time and without prior notice. The details of current membership packages can be found here.

Each governing board requires their own subscription; membership benefits cannot be shared across governing boards.

Each governing board is responsible for updating the details of their governor/trustees and clerks that NGA holds to ensure that they can receive their full benefit entitlement.  You can update your details by contacting membership@nga.org.uk

The number of people that can access benefits varies according to the membership type; corporate membership allows access for 10 employees; gold and standard membership allows access for all governors and clerks of one singular governing board; individual membership allows access for one person only.

The number of free places at available at NGA events is determined by the membership you purchase. We cannot guarantee members a place at every event. If you book onto an event but do not attend (without informing us) you may be liable for a non-attendance fee of £60. Places at events are only available for members that are listed on a membership, places are non-transferable.  Individual members will be charged £60 if they wish to attend NGA’s Summer Conference.

Membership contract

Prices of membership may be subject to change in April each year.

When you click to submit your application online, or you fax, post, telephone or email us with details of your application, you are confirming that you have accepted our terms and conditions and have entered into a legally binding contract.

Your membership will start once payment has been received and verified. Memberships run to a calendar month end; for the first term of membership it will run to the anniversary of the end of the month in which you are admitted into membership, this will be your start. The membership lasts for 12 months and becomes due for renewal on the anniversary of your start date. A renewal notice will be issued 1 month prior to your membership anniversary date.
