This session can be booked alone, but it is part of the Development for MAT trustees programme.

While MAT boards are accountable for decisions about their trust schools, many of their functions can and should be delegated to local tier academy committees. This session explores how to develop and work within successful structures of local governance.

At a glance

This session will cover:

Determining the structure and role of your local tier
Achieving effective delegation – getting your scheme of delegation right
Communications, challenge and reporting right
Meaningful local governance: reviewing its effectiveness
Working with your local governors
  • There was nothing that would have made my experience better. I would like to add that the breakout interactive sessions were very good and encouraged participation.
