NGA's board of trustees comprises a talented mix of experienced school governors, trustees, governance professionals and education leaders who bring to the table a wide range of valued business, education and charitable sector skills and knowledge.
Trustees are ultimately responsible for directing the affairs of NGA and ensuring that it is is solvent, well-run and delivering the charitable objective to improve the educational welfare of pupils by promoting high standards and improving governance in state schools.
NGA is seeking to co-opt a trustee with finance expertise to take on the role of honorary treasurer.
About the honorary treasurer role
The role involves:
- maintaining an overview of the organisation's financial affairs
- supporting and advising the Chief Executive and Head of Finance on financial issues
- ensuring an annual budget is prepared and submitted to the NGA board for approval
- ensuring audited accounts are presented to the AGM
Ideally, we are looking for someone familiar with charity accounting standards and audit processes as well as payroll, VAT and tax compliance.
