Nikki Edwards

Nikki Edwards is Chief Executive Officer of Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust, a Diocesan MAT.
She has worked across a wide range of governance contexts, including maintained schools, faith schools, academies, multi academy trusts and local authority children's services.
Her leadership experience includes serving as a headteacher, executive headteacher, National Leader of Education, managing inspector for Ofsted and statutory director of children's services.
Through her work with NGA, Nikki supports boards and individual governance leaders to strengthen their effectiveness, culture and strategic focus.
Her work includes governance reviews, board development, leadership coaching, performance management, strategic planning and support for governance professionals in developing their practice and impact.
Having held senior leadership roles across education, children's social care, adult social care, housing and public health, Nikki brings a whole-system perspective to governance.
She believes effective governance creates the conditions for children and young people to thrive.
