Governing Matters Autumn 2025

Our latest issue reflects on the enduring principles of governance, celebrated at NGA’s national conference with nearly 400 governors, trustees and leaders. Governance is shown as a shared endeavour, rooted in ethics, accountability and inclusivity, whatever the pace of social or technological change.

This edition also explores rising parental complaints, with NGA working with the Department for Education on constructive solutions. Lord Knight and Stephen Morgan MP highlight governance as central to school improvement, while survey results show encouraging progress in volunteer recruitment.
