Module description

Children today are growing up in an increasingly complex world, where they may encounter a range of influences and risks. While the internet and social media can provide valuable opportunities to learn and connect, they can also expose young people to harmful content and individuals seeking to exploit their vulnerabilities. This is in addition to the risks that might arise through face to face peer groups or community influences.

As part of their safeguarding responsibilities, schools and trusts play an important role in protecting children from harm, including the risk of radicalisation. The Prevent duty forms an important part of this safeguarding role, which aims to support education settings identify concerns early and respond appropriately to pupils who may be vulnerable.
