Discover NGA Assist: your new digital governance assistant
NGA is delighted to announce the launch of NGA Assist, our new AI-powered chatbot designed specifically for the governance community, exclusively available to NGA Gold and NGA MAT members.
We know governance work can be fast-paced, complex and challenging at times.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce NGA Assist – your new AI-powered digital assistant, created exclusively for NGA Gold Governing Board and NGA MAT members.
This helpful new tool has been designed to help you work more efficiently, offering quick, reliable answers drawn directly from NGA’s trusted guidance, resources and training materials with no guesswork or need to trawl through lengthy documents.
Why did we create NGA Assist?
Our members often tell us the same thing:
"I know NGA has the answer somewhere… I just can’t always find it quickly."
NGA Assist is designed to fix that. Instead of searching through multiple documents, you can ask your question in everyday language and receive a clear, reliable answer in seconds, all based on NGA’s high-quality guidance, resources and training materials.
There’s no guesswork involved, just accurate, quality-assured advice. Every response includes links to the exact resources used to answer your question, so you can explore further if you wish.
What can NGA Assist help you with?
The tool will provide instant answers to your governance and compliance queries, but it doesn’t stop there.
Alongside instant guidance, NGA Assist can:
- Draft meeting agendas
- Create or refine policies
- Produce board papers
- Generate tailored documents aligned with best practice
For example, you can ask NGA Assist to produce a bespoke agenda for your next board meeting, cutting preparation time while ensuring nothing essential is missed.

How do I use NGA Assist?
You can access NGA Assist quickly and easily from the NGA website.

- Or simply bookmark: www.nga.org.uk/assist
Once there, just type your question into the message box and hit Enter.
Use the three-dots menu to start a new chat, end a session, or revisit your previous conversations.

Who can use NGA Assist?
If your school or trust is an NGA Gold or NGA MAT member, you can start using NGA Assist today. Log in, ask your first question, and see how much time you can save.
How reliable is NGA Assist?
We’ve built NGA Assist using our trusted resources, but please remember AI isn’t flawless.
We recommend you double-check the tool’s responses and raise a Gold Advice Request when you need one-to-one guidance, particularly on sensitive topics.
