Self-evaluation for governing boards
The DfE recommends that governing boards complete an annual self-evaluation to identify strengths and areas for development. The DfE also encourages trust boards to commission an external review of governance every three years.

Our online self-evaluation helps boards to assess their impact, ways of working and how effectively they carry out their responsibilities. It supports boards to become more self-aware and identify where their practice could be developed.
The self-evaluation can be completed by all board members, senior executive leaders and the governance professional.
