NGA is working in partnership with Google for Education to develop AI resources for governing boards. We are currently developing an AI toolkit and policy builder which is being piloted ahead of a full launch later this summer term.
What to expect from our new AI resources:
- What AI is – clear definitions and practical examples.
- How AI is being used in schools – covering both AI in the classroom and in school operations.
- Governing board responsibility – addressing the misconception that AI is a topic only for senior leaders or IT specialists.
- AI policies – encouraging boards to review whether their AI policy (if one exists) aligns with the school/trust’s vision and values, and whether it sits coherently alongside existing policies.
- Questions to ask – for example, do the AI tools in use represent good value for money? How are staff supported to use AI appropriately?
