Who can attend
Training can be attended by whole governing boards, local governing bodies, or groups from different boards. Our face-to-face sessions accommodate up to 25 participants, and virtual sessions up to 20. If you have a small group, you can consider inviting another board to join and share the cost.

- You can select in-person or virtual options
- Virtual delivery via Zoom is capped at 20 participants. Face-to-face delivery is capped at 25 participants
- Learn together, virtual 'break-out rooms', scenarios and skills practice, and Q&As
- Weekdays, evenings and Saturday morning sessions available
- Suitable for groups of maintained schools or single academy trusts to share
- Sessions typically last 2 hours but can be longer or shorter
- Book at least 28 days in advance to secure your preferred date. For term times, it's advisable to book even earlier.

- Governing boards in academy trusts, maintained schools and federations – to help develop a new vision and strategy, refresh expertise or give new members a good grounding in governance essentials
- MAT local academy committees – to support consistent good governance practice across a MAT via bespoke training that meet the particular needs and priorities of local governors
- Individual academy trustees – to provide setting-specific professional development options for MAT and SAT trustees
- Executive leaders in MATs, SATs and maintained schools – to help executive leaders work effectively with their governors or trustees and make the most of the support and challenge they offer

The fee for a standard 2-hour session for a single governing board or local governing body starts from £525, depending on the topic, delivery format (virtual or face-to-face) and location.
The cost of a customised 2-hour session starts at £620. For designing a new session or programme, the fee will be determined after scoping and NGA will provide a quote.
NGA aims to deliver training in an economically feasible way and has a nationwide team of consultants and offers virtual delivery to reduce travel costs. As a non-profit charity, NGA strives to work within your budget to meet your training needs.
