The Department for Education (DfE) has published and updated several key documents for academy trusts:

  • Academy Trust Handbook
  • Academy Trust Governance Guide
  • Financial Support and Oversight for Academy Trusts

Whilst the 2025 updates include minimal changes that will impact the day-to-day running of academy trusts, there are notable changes for trustees, local governors and governance professionals to be aware of.
