Risk management is a continuous cycle that helps ensure strategic priorities and improvement plans for schools and trusts are maintained or met.

Department for Education (DfE) guidance explains that effective boards have a framework for identifying and managing risk and explicitly set and manage their risk appetite and tolerance.

Our risk management guides have been developed for those governing in academy trusts and maintained schools. The guides cover:

  • reviewing the risk register
