Effective risk management helps ensure strategic priorities and improvement plans for a school/trust are maintained or met.
Academy trustees must secure effective risk management through the maintenance of a risk register; however, this is good practice for all schools.
NGA has produced a guide to help governing boards manage risk. The guide is suitable for all types of school and covers:
- examples of risks specific to schools and trusts
- a framework for managing risk
- how to use a risk management policy
- an example risk register
- a method for evaluating risk
