Governing board training plan and record
Identify your board's development priorities, track your progress and encourage, support and signpost training opportunities.
All governors and trustees want to make a positive contribution to the success of their school or trust and have an impact on the lives of its pupils, staff and the wider community. However, investing time in building governance skills and knowledge can be challenging for volunteers.
Our training plan and record encourages governing boards to identify a limited number of development priorities to focus on (informed by an annual skills audit) and to track progress and share learning.
Download the training plan to access:
- A template plan to detail a board development priority for each term
- An individual planner to help board members take responsibility for their own learning
- A record to track your board's completed training and share feedback
