Use and adapt our model role descriptions to support the recruitment, appraisal and development of governance professionals whose primary role is either:
- clerk to a governing board or trust board
- lead governance professional in a multi academy trust (overseeing all aspects of governance and compliance within a trust)
The role descriptions cover:
- role purpose
- key duties
- required skills, knowledge and attributes
You should adapt the role descriptions to suit the needs of your school/trust.
A career pathway for governance professionals
NGA has developed a career pathway which includes examples of relevant job titles, a description of the type of work and hours, an estimate of earning potential and a summary of role requirements, qualifications and CPD.
The pathway is designed to support not only current and aspiring governance professionals, but also governing boards and employers in schools, trusts and service providers.
