Developing an affordable school uniform policy
The Education (Guidance about Costs of School Uniforms) Act 2021 was passed by Parliament to make school uniform costs affordable for families of all backgrounds and give parents the best value for money. NGA supports this legislation – school uniforms are a major cost to many families.
Statutory guidance has been published under the Act which schools must have regard to when developing and implementing their school and trust uniform policies.
