Emma Knight OBE, Chief Executive Steve Edmonds, Director of Advice and Guidance and Emma Balchin, Director of Professional Development look at pupil wellbeing, what we mean by it and what the current data tells us. They examine the key elements in building a whole-school culture that supports pupils and engages them directly.  

They also explore the importance of induction and CPD in supporting new and experienced governors to make an impact and deliver the best education for their pupils.

After 14 years with NGA, Emma has departed from her role as Chief Executive. During her tenure, Emma was a strong advocate for the school governance community, engaging with legislators, policymakers, education sector organisations, and the media on a national level.

Emma has over 25 years of experience in education, leadership and school improvement and in leading professional development services. Emma has also governed and chaired across maintained schools, academy trusts and local academy committees.
